New California Cancellation Policy - Horchata - 04-05-2024

California hosts, just received this email from airbnb.

"To comply with a new law in California and improve the booking experience, Airbnb will offer guests a 24-hour cancellation refund period. This change will begin rolling out in May and will affect all listings in California by July 1, 2024.

Guests can cancel a reservation and receive a full refund if:

-The listing is located in California. -The cancellation is within 24 hours of confirming a reservation. -The reservation was confirmed at least 72 hours before check-in time.

If a guest cancels during the refund period, this overrides your cancellation policy and you will not receive a payout. You’ll be notified in the cancellation email if you receive this type of cancellation."

While most of the new laws passed in California seem to be quiet ridiculous this shouldn't have too much  of an impact on my listing as I hardly get people who book and then cancel within a day.

I'm also in California and I don't think this is going to impact us much. Most guests don't book and then decide a few hours later they are going to cancel.

Not in California but it seems reasonable to me as both a host and a guest.

This seems reasonable IMO.
