Getting Airbnb to help on fees - coen1980 - 04-04-2025 Hi all, I am having a current guest who brought a large dog to my property. I do not ban pets but I charge a $100 pet fee which is clearly in the listing. In my check in message I also remind guests to review and abide by the listing. When I messaged the guest regarding the $100 pet fee they say ok however after requesting the fee the guest no longer replies. Does anyone have any advice on how to get airbnb support to help contact the guest about the fee as I feel she is taking advantage of us. RE: Getting Airbnb to help on fees - TigerSan - 04-05-2025 Unfortunately, all you can do is better screen your guests and make your policy more clear. In this case Airbnb (assuming its Airbnb) will not force or collect the extra guest fee as it is not related to any damages. If the pets do result in some sort of damages, or even additional cleaning (extra time for vacuuming dog hair, etc.) you can submit documentation of "extra cleaning" to Airbnb and indicate extra cleaning was required. You can also help ensure such guests do not abuse the system in the future by leaving an honest, factual review. RE: Getting Airbnb to help on fees - timapple - 04-05-2025 I had guests who wouldn't leave- they literally started eating their pizzas at the table after the cleaning crew was waiting at the front door after checkout time. Even though my rules clearly state the late checkout fee, Airbnb refused to charge anything. You as a host have zero recourse if someone refuses to pay those extra fees which is not collected during the time of the reservation. |
