Long Term Stay Request [Arizona-Maricopa] - dhuey - 04-05-2025
Hi All,
New to this forum and as a host. I just went live with my listing which is in Maricopa county. My first request is for a long term stay and I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. Any hosts local to Maricopa and heard of any issues or bad stories with these types of request? It seems that squatting is not big of an issue here and that even Police will help to evict if a sworn affidavit is filed?

I havent heard of any issues with squatting from short term renters like in California. Most of the "squatting" cases in Arizona involve adverse possession or situations where a property has been vacant for years. The law just isn't on the squatters side here in Arizona.

Luckily the tenancy laws in AZ are in favor of homeowners and landlords. You should be all good.

If this request from someone who has previous stays? If so and as long as they dont seem to be taking you off platform then I think you should be good. If you do accept, you can google them to make see if there is any negative on them before the stay and possibly cancel, depending on the terms.
