Hello all,

I am new to this airbnb host forum and I’m planning to start hosting on Airbnb, but after seeing all these issues from other hosts I’m feeling hesitant to move forward. Are there any successful Airbnb hosts out there who can share their experiences? How many properties are in your portfolio and are you able to make at least $10K per month? Is it worth the effort, or does the stress outweigh the benefits? I’d really appreciate any tips or insights to help me decide. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum... it is unlikely you will clear $10k/month unless you can pay cash for a property, do your own cleaning and management and can pull in over $400/night. But then you have taxes/insurance/supplies/licensing fees and have to hit 100 percent occupancy. Research your area on occupancy and rates and base your decision on that as well as the above you will have to cover. I am not aware of an area that is in high demand year round.

BNBcalculator is a good start.

Our revenue, off one property, is $20K. In other words, we get a free house in a place we love visiting and can do so often. So it's worth it to us, but it's no money maker and even though we hire a cleaner to manage the turn-arounds, there is still plenty of planning (and sometimes worry) for us to get involved in.
