Stains (hair dye?) on sofa - ctheworld - 03-15-2026
A guest who checked out yesterday got what looks like purple hair dye on my sofa. I just noticed it because I’ve been really sick and hadn’t gone by until today. Needless to say, the stain is set and dried.
It’s a slipcover so I can wash it but I’m not hopeful the dye will come out. What are my best options for trying?
If I do need my submit an aircover claim it’s asking if it needs to be replaced or if it can be repaired/cleaned.

Take pictures before you throw it in the laundry with some oxi-clean. If the laundry doesnt get rid of the stain, stake photos of the after and then just submit it, along with a replacement receipt to aircover. It should really be that easy unless this is some designer slipcover that you are going to argue is irreplaceable.

I've had this situation enough times that I have in my house rules no hair dye and no glitter. As far as aircover, I would submit all your proof and see what happens. In my opinion, this is beyond cost of doing business as an Airbnb host.
