After checking in, she messaged me that the bathroom was not properly cleaned. I apologized and asked if she could send me pictures so I can talk to my cleaning lady. Then she sent me several pictures with one hair in it. These pictures are from different angles for this one hair. I asked if she wants my cleaning lady to get there and clean this hair. She said refund would be nice. I didn’t say anything but refunded cleaning fee to her. I have hundreds of review, pure 5 stars for cleanliness. My cleaning lady is very thorough and dedicated. I think it’s a refund scam and I’ll make sure to put that in her review and check ‘Will not host again”!

If this is your first time dealing with nonsense like this and you've had mostly great guests otherwise, just forget about it and hope that it ends with a refund and not a bad review.

A single hair doesn’t warrant a refund, especially when you offered to fix it right away. Refunding the cleaning fee was generous. Definitely note the experience in your review so other hosts are aware.

I have the advantage of living near my airbnb. After every cleaning I walk through the suite with such a laser eye for stray hairs that my cleaners didn’t catch. And I get upset for when they don’t. Some times I see more stray hairs than others. If I was a guest and saw this I would be disgusted. It is what it signifies. It signifies a sloppy cleaning team or that the place was only “tidied up” not cleaned and it makes you think what else isn’t cleaned in the place.
