I keep reading that hot tubs are a maintenance nightmare. We are thinking of getting one at listing which we use for personal use quiet often. What do you all think? Too much trouble than it's worth? I assume I would have to find a special person to come and maintain and clean it. How often do you all clean it/empty it between guests?

We drain it monthly and then rebalance after every guest. It is quite involved. If you are hands off at your listing, I would recommend just locking it and not advertising it.

If you have a larger hot tub then it can be cleaned less often. Our hot tub guy comes once a week, 650 gallon. We are not near the beach or sand or anything like that which makes it easier to maintain.
