Anyone else getting guests requesting a discount on an already discounted listing? (I have a promotion and weekly / monthly discount). I am new to hosting and not sure if this is normal.

I used to get this all the time - there would be a long story about how wonderful they are and how beautiful our home is and how they would love to book, but could they get 50% off? It's almost as if there is a script out there telling people what to say when asking for discounts. I ended up putting in my list there are NO discounts and it count down on alot of the nonsense.

I've gotten 4 request in the past two weeks. There's definitely a tiktok trend or something going on.

I've only given one discount to a repeat guest. Everyone else I respond with "Any available discounts have already been factored into the rate."

They usually don’t turn out to be good guests. Unless you are desperate and about to lose the house, tell them the price is already discounted and you can’t go any lower.

When I first started off I got a bunch of discount requests but now that I've been hosting for over a year and have all 5 star reviews the requests have stopped. I think they are seeking newer hosts like yourself who are more likely to cave.
