I have an ESA. When we travel I still only look for pet friendly places even though I know I don’t have to. I even pay the pet fees when hosts don’t know the rules and still send the pet fee just because I’d rather just pay it then have an awkward situation.

I see lots of complicated and nuanced solutions on this thread. Have you all considered not even addressing the ESA issue and creating a new issue that is in your control?

"I apologize, but these dates are no longer available due to recent scheduling requiring our family needing to use our home for personal reasons".

Open the days up later .

Having instantbook off has allowed us to avoid any potential ESA scams, issues, whatever you want to call them. We did have one guest mention they have a labrapoodle upfront and we ended up accepting because he had good reviews, mentioned it was well trained and we know those breeds don't shed.

This is the one upside of hosting in Las Vegas. Nobody wants to think or worry about their fake ESA pet while they are here in Vegas. Never once have I gotten a guest who even thought about bringing one.
