We allow pets at our ABNB with a required $75 pet fee at booking. I’ve had too many people who have skirted that by not listing the pet in the original booking and I’ve had to go request it after seeing dog hair on the furniture and on the cameras. I recently added that I will be charging an additional $50 if they do not disclose pets at booking.
A recent nightmare guest had a non-disclosed dog that pee'd on the sheets and bed. I requested $125 for the pet fee and $40 for the destroyed sheets but she lied and said the dog didn't pee on the sheets. This was all through airbnb chat, and when I escalated to ABNB their response was “To clarify, the Host is able to create the house rules for the accommodation listed in our platform. However, please note that as per our Terms of Service, we are unable to reinforce reimbursement for them - only to enforce our own Terms of Service, which are the ones that users agreed to.” All they were able to cover was the $40.
