Guest Refunds - ally140 - 03-17-2024
We have a 5 star rated listing, over 100 reviews and a very reasonable cleaning fee. A guest just complained about a hair she found in the bathroom and now Airbnb support said that the guest is entitled to a full refund of the cleaning fee and 30% of the first night = $100. Not sure if this is a "scam" or not but even if it were a single hair, this Airbnb policy sounds pretty ridiculous. Even thought I do take pictures of the place after cleaning, it's not like the camera will catch a small sliver of hair caught in a pillow or in the corner of the bathroom.

Lucky for us we have not come across any of these sorts of claims (knock on wood) but hair is always one of those things that keeps us up at night. Both me and my wife have thinning (and dark) hair so I always freak out a bit when I'm doing the bedsheets and I look down and see a strand of hair that got stuck in the duvet or on the pillows. Sometimes I even throw a hat on to prevent it..

Hair is just one of those things you will eventually come across, it's just everywhere. Just like dead skin follicles... that's what most of dust is...
